Mission & Strategy

The Norwegian Film School (NFS)

The Norwegian Film School was founded by an act of the Norwegian Parliament, and opened in 1997 as a faculty at Lillehammer University College (LUC).

NFS offers both Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts programmes in filmmaking. In addition, NFS hosts PhD-level artistic researchers through the national Artistic Research Fellowship Programme.

The School maintains a strong and dynamic relationship with the professional film industry in Norway and beyond, with both the full-time teaching staff as well as guest instructors coming from active careers in the Norwegian and international film, television, and related industries.
