Major Achievements: Director, screenwriter and film actor. Lodz Film School film direction graduate. Co-screenwriter of Roman Polański’s ‘Knife in the Water’ and Andrzej Wajda’s ‘Innocent Sorcerers’. The 1964 film ‘Description’ was his film debut. Since 1969, he has lived and worked abroad in England, Italy, and the USA. The winner of prestigious film prizes – Golden Lion at the International Film Festival in Berlin for the film ‘The Start’, Special Prizes at the International Film Festival in Venice for the films ‘Lightship’ and ‘Essential Kiling’ , and Special Prize at the Cannes International Film Festival for the film ‘The Shout’.
