Major Achievements: Director of photography and cinematography lecturer. Lodz Film School cinematography graduate and lecturer. Member of the European Film Academy (EFA) and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Director of photography of numerous feature films and documentaries, Polish and international ones, amongst them Andrzej Barański’s „Kobieta z prowincji”, TV series „Boża podszewka” by Izabela Cywińska, and „Ida” by Paweł Pawlikowski. BAFTA award winner for direction of photography for Joe Wright’s film „Charles II: The power and the passion”. Most prizes, however, he has received for his involvement in making the film „Ida” by Paweł Pawlikowski – for the direction of photography for this film Ryszard Lenczewski received Golden Frog – the main prize at the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage 2013, the European Film Academy Award and the ASC Spotlight Award. Ryszard Lenczewski has been nominated for an Oscar as a director of photography of Paweł Pawlikowski’s film “Ida”.
