Prof. Ivan Nichev graduated the Lodz Film School in Poland as a student of Andrzej Wajda.
Member of the European Film Academy “Felix prize” since 1997.
Over his career, prof. Ivan Nichev has received awards for his films: “Bulgarian Rhapsody” - The Bulgarian Submission to the Foreign Language Oscar 2014; “The Adventures of an Arleqin” mini series nominated at Monte Carlo International Tv Festival 2008; “Children of Wax” 2007 co production Germany/Italy/ Israel/ NUImage Hollywood USA; “BG returned from Europe ”2004- mini series for Bulgarian National TV ; “Journey to Jerusalem” 2003“ the Bulgarian Submission to the Foreign Oscar 2004; "After the end of the world" 1999; "The Funny adventures of a Bulgarian in Europe" 1991 in coproduction with "Tempel" Production (Austria) audience prize for highest box office;"Ivan and Alexandra" in Competition at Berlin Film Festival 1988, won Golden Plague"-Chicago Film Festival; Special Prize of the Jurv - Montecatini (Italy); Grand Prix "Golden Rose"Varna; "Stars In The Hair - Tears In The Eyes" acclaimed by critics as best film at the following festivals: "Silver Orange"-Antalia Film Festival, Official Selection London Film Festival, Sydney, Bangalore, Belgrade1977.
