Major Achievements: Assoc. Prof. Rossitza Ilieva is the Head of the Department “ Film & TV Directing, Editing and Animation “.
After few years as a motion picture film editor at Boyana Film Studios she became a freelance editor and consultant of several professional features and documentaries projects some of which received awards.
She has a nomination for Best Film Editor by the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers.
As a member or a Chairman of the selection commissions or Juries of several Bulgarian and International Film and TV Festivals and a member of the National Commission for feature film scripts at the National Film Centre, she was supporting the creation, distribution and exhibition of films and co-productions both in the country and abroad.
She is a member of the governing body of the Film Editors’ Guild since 2007 and Head of the Guild since 2013, also member of the Bulgarian Film Academy since 2010.
She has been working also as a teacher of the main course of Theory and Practice of Film and TV Editing and in charge of Film Editing Classes at the Faculty of Screening Arts. Since 2007 she is a member of the Academic Council governing the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts/NATFA/ in Sofia, Bulgaria
As a film editor, consultant, lecturer, supervising tutor, organizer of seminars, discussions and exibitions, she already has the experience of successfully completed projects financed by EU in partnership with Belgium, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, France, Germany, Lithuania and Turkey in various social, educational and professional art projects, supported also by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of foreign affaires and the Cultural centers of the participant countries.
Besides the art of film, painting, dance, music and drama language, she is familiar with the advantages of multilingual knowledge for the educational, professional and economic opportunities created by an integrated Europe and worldwide.
