This one-day documentary Training the Trainers activity is intended to take place the day before the start of the annual UFVA Conference in Washington DC (3 August 2015). Its theme is "Impacts of Current Trends in Documentary Film on Media Education". As social media and new technologies redefine documentary filmmaking, educators must develop appropriate teaching methodologies. This event facilitates the process through direct interaction between working filmmakers and documentary teachers. Keynote speaker Michael Rabiger will be followed by three interactive sharing panels: the first on Developing Content, the second on the Impact of Fair Use on Documentary Filmmaking, and the third on Innovative Teaching Methodologies.
The event is open to all CILECT members and the registration fee is US $67.
