ENTRY DEADLINES
for films:
05/05/2016 (for films that have been completed before 1 May 2016)
07/07/2016 (final entry deadline)
We gladly accept a rough cut of your film as submission screener.
This year we do not want to keep you waiting for too long:
Therefore all films submitted up until 05/05/2016 will receive a binding
feedback on their selection status by end of June. It's worth to submit as
early as possible! The final decision for films submitted afterwards will be
announced by end of August.
for interactive works:
07/07/2016 (final entry deadline)
Until 7 July, Documentary, Animation and Animadoc Films of all lengths from 2015 or 2016 that have not been screened publicly before 1 October 2015 can be submitted to this year’s festival edition.

DOK Leipzig opens its submission call for interactive works. We look for innovative audiovisual works telling a non-fictional story with technical elements beyond film. The projects may range from webdocs to apps, VR to installations.

ACADEMY AWARDS®
All winners of our International Competition for Short Documentary and Animation Films will qualify for consideration for the annual ACADEMY AWARDS® provided that the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.
European Film Award
All documentaries by European filmmakers that are shown in our Official Selection are eligible for the European Film Award in the category of “European Documentary”. DOK Leipzig recommends three documentary films which have premiered with us to the Academy. The films in the selection must have a length of 70 minutes or more.
