The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and the Netherlands Film Academy present a new edition of the successful IDFA Film Student Route: a tailor-made program for film students from film academies and film schools. A route through the IDFA program, full of inspiration and with the latest developments in today’s international documentary industry. IDFA and the Netherlands Film Academy work together in creating educational programs to provide young and evolving documentary filmmakers and producers with the knowledge and tools to further develop themselves and become part of the international documentary industry.
The IDFA Film Student Route (18-24 November) includes:
→ Kickoff at the IDFA Film Academy Day (November 18) at the Netherlands Film Academy. Watch films, discuss films, and get to know each other.
→ Films from the IDFA 2021 program with Q&A.*
→ Masterclasses
→ Morning sessions of the IDFAcademy, the 4-day training program for emerging directors and producers*
→ Network opportunities with international film students and professionals
*When corona regulations will limit out capacity in our venues during the festival, we need to make some changes in the film student route in comparison to previous years. We might ask you to book your own tickets together with other passholders during the presale for passholders. The morning sessions of IDFAcademy are also part of the Student Route with reservation. If, due to COVID regulations, we cannot have full venues we might have to take these morning sessions out of the student route.
