Every year the Griffith Film School runs our award-winning two week Outback Filmmaking Bootcamp in the Australian Outback where 60 students from around the world pitch, shoot, cut and screen their films as part of the Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival’s closing night celebrations (https://www.visionsplendidfilmfest.com/). The organizers be honoured to have your students join the Bootcamp this year.
Previously students from CILECT schools in India, China, Singapore, Japan, Germany and England took part. The students collaborate in cross-cultural teams for two very intense weeks in Winton surrounded by some of Australia’s most cinematic locations (Mystery Road, The Proposition, Goldstone).
All production gear, production offices, dorm style accommodation, two meals a day and a full range of masterclasses and screenings in conjunction with the festival is provided. This course has won many university and national awards and consistently ranked as one of the school’s very best courses by students with many saying it was the highlight of their degree.
If you would like to send students this year, please contact Donna Hamilton (d.hamilton@griffith.edu.au) or Ashley Burgess (a.burgess@griffith.edu.au) who designed and runs the course. The cost is AU$1,900 per student which covers transport from Brisbane, Accommodation, Productions gear and full festival season pass as well as many other cultural activities.
