Major Achievements: Outstanding feature film director and documentary film-maker. Direction graduate from the Lodz Film School. His documentaries, ‘From the City of Lodz’, ‘From a Night Porter’s Point of View’ and ‘Talking Heads’ placed themselves among the classics of the Polish documentary films. Following great success in documentary film-making Kieślowski turned to fiction. Among his most famous films are ‘Camera Buff’ with a vivid performance from Jerzy Stuhr, ‘A Short Film about Love’ and ‘A Short Film about Killing’. With great success he engaged himself in carrying out the multi-part ‘Ten Commandments’ project. He is known world- wide as the director of the film trilogy ‘Three Colours’. Winner of Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival, Silver Bear at the International Film Festival in Berlin and Jury Prize at Cannes International Film Festival.
