Research Fellow, Stories in Transition

An AHRC funded post to work on the project ‘Stories in Transition: Examining the role of arts, culture and sport in supporting veteran transition to civilian life’. The post-holder will work with three partner organisations – Soldiers Arts Academy, Turn to Starboard & Waterloo Uncovered, including peer researchers from each of these organisations – to produce high quality films which capture and represent the experience of transition from the military to civilian life via involvement in arts, cultural and sporting activities. The project is a collaboration with ARU’s Veterans and Families Institute for Military Social Research and StoryLab and colleagues from University of Exeter and Manchester Metropolitan University.

The project requires an exceptional multi-skilled candidate with expertise in documentary film making skills (high value storytelling and creative production skills, ideally with a broadcast industry background). The candidate will be working from concept to delivery (pre-production to post-production) and working with contributors in a strongly co-creative manner to develop creative practice research outputs.
