The ones most relevant to non-Scandinavian speakers are the two Artistic Researcher positions (https://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/180832/artistic-research-fellow-in-filmmaking-2-positions). These are the equivalent to PhDs in Fine Arts, and in Norway a PhD position is a paid position (3 years, although it may be possible to negotiate a 4-year position which includes a 25% teaching requirement). We are also in the process of establishing a formal PhD programme in filmmaking and audio-visual storytelling, and the candidates in the Artistic Research programme when this PhD is established will be offered a transfer to the PhD programme.
We encourage applicants who are interested in creating innovative and groundbreaking work in film, tv-drama, interactive narrative, VR, AR, etc. The most important part of the application is desciption of the artistic project the candidate intends to produce, as the work is the dissertation — there is no requirement to write or publish academic work.
In addition we are also hiring a new Head of Directing (BFA), Head of Screenwriting (BFA), Head of Studies for the BFA, and Head of Studies for the MFA. Successful applicants here must have one of the Scandinavian languages (Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish). The MFA is in Oslo, the other three in Lillehammer.
