“Ashok has a Diploma in Film Making from Digital Academy Mumbai and holds a rich experience in teaching screenwriting for Films & T.V at the university level and possesses professional screenwriting experience for 6 years across TV and film formats.

He began as a co-director for promos and a docu-fiction narrative, on the empowerment of women for Asmitha Microfin Ltd. He has worked at Design Street / Hema Advertising Agency, Blue Frog Media Pvt. Ltd., and Real Channel Turner Entertainment Group.

He has scripted a Telugu Film Anantham which narrates three parallel stories involving three different urban women and their love stories. He also scripted a feature film that’s going to be co-produced by Sharman Joshi (of 3 Idiots fame) in Hindi.”

Vivek Pandey

Field of Teaching: Animation & VFX
Major Achievements:

“Vivek Kumar Pandey is the Animation Faculty for BFA, MFA and Diploma programs. He teaches basic and advanced drawing, conceptual art, perspective, storyboard &layout design, portfolio, preproduction, composition, sequential drawing and key frame animation amongst others at AISFM.

Vivek is a Gold Medalist in Bachelor of Fine Arts (drawing and painting) from the Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh.

Prior to joining AISFM, Vivek has worked at DQ Entertainment International Limited as a professional trainer, animator, quality controller, layout artist and concept designer. He has also worked in over 40 TV series in over 450 episodes at various levels.”

Sayandeb Mukherjee

Field of Teaching: Sound
Major Achievements:

“A Post Graduate in cinema from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Sayandeb Mukherjee worked as an associate mix engineer, sound effects designer and sound designer. For over 15 years. His projects include films in Bengali, Telugu and Hindi, notably BombaiyerBombetey, SonthaOoru, Cash, Adbhutam, Banshiwala and Yatra. In the recent past he has worked at Ramoji Film City as an associate mixing engineer.

Sayandeb was awarded an Independent Research Fellowship by SARAI under CSDS (Centre for the Study of Developing Societies) for his venture called The Space Interlude. He was also credited as a sound designer for the diploma film Unmathabudham Jagath which was selected and recognized by the Oberhausen Film Festival, Munich International Film Festival and IFFI.

Sayandeb has also taught at the Ramoji Film City Film School, Research Engineers Pvt. Ltd and has managed live recordings for numerous concerts, cultural programs and reality shows on television.”

Rima Mazumdar

Field of Teaching: Editing
Major Achievements:

“Rima has done her English Honors from Calcutta University and Post Graduate Diploma in Television Production from Hyderabad Central University.

Rima has been involved in post-production and production of television programs for the last 18 years in Calcutta and Hyderabad. She edited the first ever children’s fiction series produced in the high definition format for the first time in India.

She enjoys working on films with a social cause such as, Quamer – Working to Live, which is about an 11-year-old girl who lives with her family in one room in the Old City, Hyderabad. The film won the Audience Prize at Lucas Children’s Film Festival, Germany, Audience Prize at Dubai International Film Festival – 2007, Audience Prize at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was also nominated for the 21st International Documentary Film Festival, Amsterdam.

Rima’s portfolio includes broadcast programs, corporate, promotional, documentaries and ad films in addition to new media formats. She was the post production head and senior editor for Joyce Meyer Ministries, Asia (2002 – 2013), and also set up a post-production unit consisting of ten edit, three audio recording suites with Pro Tools and one graphic station.

Rima has also worked as an Editor with Padmalaya Studios, Hyderabad and at Ramoji Film City for ETV Bangla/ Marathi and is proficient with Avid, Final Cut Pro, Media 100, Sony ES-5, Sony ES-7, DPS Velocity, Softimage DS, Discrete Edit and Analog Edit Consoles. Earlier in her career she worked as a freelance copywriter and features writer for The Statesman, Calcutta.”

Padma Ramesh

Field of Teaching: Film Studies
Major Achievements:

“A Masters in English Literature, Padma Ramesh has more than 20 years’ experience in fields as diverse as media, teaching and training. She was the editor of The Hindu – Opportunities, the Wednesday supplement of The Hindu for 7 years, as well as Appointment Times – a career supplement of Khaleej Times, Dubai.

She also has to her credit a diploma in Film Appreciation from FTII – Pune. Her association with the print media has been an extraordinary 15 years, during which time she was associated in various capacities with Newstime, Indian Express and the Times of India.

Padma taught Functional and Business English to the MS students of IT programme across Andhra Pradesh. She also worked as the head of Corporate Communications of Byrraju Foundation (CSR wing of Satyam), at Vanpic Industries; and as a Professor of Business Communication and Soft Skills at IBS, Hyderabad.

She is also a recipient of Vijayavani National Education-Leadership Awards for ‘Best Teacher- Mass Communication’.”

Soumen Sarkar

Soumen has over 12 years of experience as a Sound Designer & teacher. He has previously worked on various projects in the areas of arranging, sequencing, recording, editing, mixing, composing and playing guitar! Soumen has a diploma in sound recording and sound design from the Ramoji Academy of Film and Television.

Sanjeev Kumar

Field of Teaching: Sound
Major Achievements:

“Sanjeev Kumar has more than 29 years of experience as a sound engineer and designer. He is a graduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (Pune), 1986 batch, and has specialized in Sound Recording and Engineering. Having worked as a consultant for Westrex India in Mumbai, he established his own sound recording company in Bhubaneswar, Orissa.

His profile boosts of an array of national and international projects, including a fusion pop album with the queen of Italian pop, Antonella Ruggiero where he worked as a co-music composer.

He was also a part of Prasad Labs and Shabdalaya Studios as a chief sound recordist; worked on an assortment of Bollywood and Tollywood films. His acute knowledge of acoustics and studio design helped him in designing a state-of-the-art sound studio for Roberto Colombo in Milan, and numerous other film recording studios in Hyderabad.

Sanjeev Kumar has also composed songs for various playback singers such as Alka Yagnik and background scores for many telefilms for CBN and Joyce Meyer Ministries, USA.”

R. Siva Krishna Pavan

“Siva Krishna Pavan has a degree in Computer Science & Diploma in Animation & VFX from MUV Institute of Digital Arts. He has worked with MAAC & Frameboxx as a Technical Head for various regions, and handled various commercial 3D and gaming projects.

His role at AISFM is multi-faceted which ranges from research, analysis, curriculum design to providing hands-on training in animation & vfx. Siva’s hobbies are photography, listening to music and reading books. He has also worked on a National Award winning film titled Kanji, starring Chiranjeevi.”

Sheikh Tawheed Rehman

Field of Teaching: Film Studies
Major Achievements:

“Tawheed Rehman is a teacher, designer and photographer all rolled into one. Armed with a Mass Communication & Journalism degree from the University of Kashmir, Tawheed has worked at E TV, ICFAI University Press and as an analyst at YouTube and Google, Hyderabad.

He has also worked as a News Producer & Web Designer apart from being a Guest Faculty at the Department of Communications, University of Hyderabad.

Prior to AISFM, he was working as an Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Science & Technology at Kashmir, teaching online journalism, media analysis and photo journalism besides providing video editing and layout designing training to students.”

Amit Prasad Ballarapu

Field of Teaching: Screen Writing
Major Achievements:

“Amit Prasad is equipped with in-depth theoretical and practical experience in the art and functioning of the film industry. His expertise lies in story development and conceptualization, screenplay development and professional analysis; and in the areas of film production, film acquisition, international sales and distribution.

Amit has worked at More Media, Los Angeles; Eclectic Pictures, California; Vuguru Productions, California and Applied Art Productions, California as Script Supervisor, Creative Assistant, Script Development/Acquisitions and Distribution Executive.

Prior to joining us here, he established an independent production company Videlo Pictures, Hollywood and was also its writer and producer. Amit has completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Andhra University and is an Associate of Science in Film (screenwriting and direction) from the Los Angeles Film School. He has trained under American film industry stalwarts like Michael Eisner (ex-Disney President), Darren Lynn Bousman (Director, Saw 2), Brett Leonard (Director, Lawnmower Man), Valerie Mccaffrey (Producer, American HistoryX) in the art of Story Development and Screen Writing.”

Dr T Vijay Raghava

Field of Teaching: Acting
Major Achievements:

“Dr. Vijaya Raghava Thatiparthy is a Professor –Department of Acting at Annapurna International School of Film & Media, Hyderabad who had international experience in wide ranges with in different contexts of actors training. He has done his doctoral studies in Performing Arts from Central University of Hyderabad. Acted and directed more than 60 play productions. He is considered as an expert in the field of Acting and Theatre training and practice. He has conducted more than 50 acting/theatre workshops in and out of Hyderabad and also visited America, Europe for teaching, performing and attending international conferences and camps. He has presented research papers in 7 international, 10 national and 8 regional conferences. Giving guest lectures in India and abroad also having several awards and publications in his hand.

Besides this he has been organizing three cultural organizations (ART-Association of Rural Theatre, AREA – Art Related Experimental Association and DNA – Drama Networks Academy) as a general secretary. He has expertise in personality training, various acting and performance styles, acting principles and techniques and he is interested in teaching courses like film and theatre acting with Stanislavski method and Indian classical method acting – Natya Sastra. He has worked with students, villagers, orphanage children, inmates of central prisons and NGO’s. He has also designed and developed the arts education syllabus for the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Councils Educational and Research Institutes (SCERT’s).

Coming to television and film, he has trained artists like Kriti Sanon, Vishu Reddy, Arvind Krishna, Supriya Shailaja, Virat, Karthik Guntreddi, Jyotshna, Priyanka, Sampoornesh Babu and many others. He is honored with prestigious Bharat Jyoti award and AP Govt. Nandi award. Trying to use theatre as a medium of Social Change he is happy to state that the results are positive.”

Nagavenkata Vamsi Krishna Chaitanya Malluri

“MNVVK Chaitanya has 14 years experience in the field of learning and development, academics, media education, policy research and management education. His role in the media field has traversed many areas and he has conceptualized, re-strategized, designed and implemented OD, OE, talent management, leadership development and capability building initiatives to enable businesses for enhanced performance and achievement of planned objectives.

During his work tenure he has been involved in facilitating lectures in select economic subjects, supervising thesis projects at graduate and under graduate levels, updating the academic curriculum, assisting senior faculty in book writing, sourcing, and copy editing research articles for IER journal and handling academic administration. In an editorial role, he has worked on two new launches (B&E and TSI magazines) and provided editorial ideation to columns and sections relating to economics and political economy.

He has worked as faculty previously at Centum Learning Limited, at IIPM, Hyderabad and prior to joining us; he has worked as Manager, Learning & Development at KSK Energy Ventures Limited. Chaitanya has completed his M.A. in Sociology from Annamalai University.”

Sasi Bhushan

Field of Teaching: Animation & VFX
Major Achievements:

“Pallakonda Sasi Bhushan, Faculty – Animation, has a decade of experience in visual effects and CGI and has worked on TV shows and advertisements.

Sasi has a Masters Certification in 3D animation from the MUV Institute of Digital Arts, Chennai.

Prior to joining AISFM, he worked as Sr. Faculty at his alma mater Panchagenya Animation and VFX College. He has worked with ad film makers like Adverz, on TV shows like Connection, Super Singers, MAA Television Awards for MAA TV and independently on solo projects.

He loves reading books and watching movies and believes in the saying “nothing is easy, nothing is impossible”. His motto is; ‘learn from your mistakes, because the more you learn, the more you grow.’ And he sincerely believes that anyone can become a great artist but a great artist can come from anywhere.”

Arvind Ranjan Das

Field of Teaching: Direction
Major Achievements:

“Arvind has a PG Diploma in Editing from FTII, Pune. Arvind has gained experience working as Principal, Senior Faculty, Subject Matter Expert, Creative Head, Content Head, Producer, Director, Editor, Writer, Lyricist, News Reader, Announcer and Actor in the 25 years that he has worked in. He also has 10 years of teaching experience in the field of Film, Tv & Media.

Prior to joining us, Arvind had been teaching Film Making at Mumbai Film Academy, Mumbai. He is also the writer & director of the Hindi feature films, ‘GHAZAB NAGARIYA’ Produced by ANTARANG and ‘SYSTEM’ starring Somali Bendre, Aryan Vaid and Gulshan Grover produced by Jhamu Sughand Production. He was the Producer & Director of TV shows ‘Hollywood se Bollywood’ on Zee TV, ‘Request Your Best’ and ‘Sargam Sadabahar’ on Doordarshan. Not just that, but Arvind was also the Senior Director for Care World and ATN Channel.”

Milind Mahale

Field of Teaching: Cinematography

“Milind Mahale is a product of FTII, Pune, who has an eye for camera which shows in his vast experience in award winning art house cinema industry.

Milind Mahale is an Independent Cinematographer and Cameraman with over 17 years of professional Film & TV industry experience in all aspects of Film and Television production. Along with this, he also has 7 years of teaching experience in the same.

Prior to joining us here, he was part of the faculty for Cinematography at Digital Academy – The Film School, Mumbai, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Production, in the department of Film & Television, School of Creative Arts, College of Humanities and Education at Fiji National University (FNU), Faculty in Cinematography at ICE (Institute of Creative Excellence) to name a few.

He has also been part of international films like the French Production, ‘The call of the yeti’ (‘Yeti, le cri de l’homme des neiges’) and the Swedish Production, ‘A human life’ (‘Ettmänskligt liv’). Milind has also worked as Operative Cameraman in multiple camera setups & also assisted in lighting for Talk-shows, Stand-up comedy shows, Chat-shows and Reality-shows like ‘Big Switch’, ‘Tele-dost’, ‘Great Indian Laughter Champions’, and ‘Iss Jungle Se MujheBachao’.”

Nitin Govindrao Mane

Field of Teaching: Acting
Major Achievements:

“Nitin Mane is the Faculty for Acting & Outreach Program. He has done his MFA in Acting from the Louisiana State University and MTA Theatre from Mumbai University, April 2010. A writer, teacher and artist; Nitin has taught Introduction to Acting at Louisiana State University. He has conducted various workshops on acting techniques and theatre; and has performed on stage at Sangeet Kala Kendra, Mumbai and Swine Palace, Baton Rouge, USA.

He has certification from The Society of Indian Fight Directors – Basic Certification in Single Sword, British Academy of Dramatic Combat – Basic Certification in Single Sword, Rapier and Dagger and Hand-to-Hand Combat. As a writer he has written one-act and short plays; A Man Without, a solo performance; Incoherence, a one act play and Jeevan Asha, a short play. And as an artist, he has performed at Swine Palace, LSU; Rangpeeth, Mumbai and Sangeet Kala Kendra, Mumbai amongst many others.

His is interested in teaching courses like Meisner technique, Stanislavski method and Indian classical drama – Rasa and Bhava; and his research interests lie in performance histories, post colonial drama, evolution of ancient arts, dialects of English, Hindi and Marathi et al.”

“Srinivas Tallapalli is the Faculty for Cinematography & Photography and has experience in Cinematography, Photography, Content Creation, TVC, VFX Production and Feature Films.

He has worked in the IT Industry for over 15 years across organizations like IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Polaris Software Lab. He has given guest lectures in cinematography, was involved with Mumbai Academy of Media Arts and worked as Associate Cinematographer for Telugu regional films. Prior to joining us he was Content Executive/Cinematographer at Reliance Big Entertainment (FunOnGo). He has done his PG Diploma in TV Production with Distinction from Central University and graduation in Engineering from Nagarjuna University. He also has Project Management Certification from PMI, Florida.

He has been pursuing Cinematography and Content Creation for five years and has over 13 years of Project Management experience in Digital IT Industry. In Cinematography he has varied expertise with Blackmagic 4K workflow, Sony f65, Arri, RED and DSLR Cameras along with VFX, Editing and Digital Imaging.”

“Arun John’s main objective it to be a good ‘storyteller’ and to be a master purveyor of information. Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Communication from the Department of Communication, Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad he has worked as an assistant professor at St. Francis College for Women. Armed with a JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) in Mass Communication and Journalism he is currently a Senior Research Fellow (SRF).

He has worked as a research assistant for the UNESCO Chair on Community Media and was part of the UNESCO Chair on Community Media team and was a field coordinator for an international workshop on Communication for Development. He also interned with the United Nations Development Programme, New Delhi.

He likes teaching, reading and writing, especially on youth related articles and about contemporary culture, politics, music and the society, ICT, ICTs in education, Livelihood development, Discourse on Development Communication, Culture, Globalization, Movies, Pop culture.”

Raman Sambasivan Iyer

Major Achievements:

Raman S Iyer, alumni of FTII (Film & Television Institute of India, Pune) from the batch of 1994, has been working as a Director of Photography for audio-visual productions in Television and Film Industry since 1999. During the interim period he gained experience, as an assistant to ace cinematographers of the Indian film industry namely Mazhar Kamran, Attar Sing Saini, Vijay Khambatti, Anoop Jotwani, Anil Mehta, Santhosh Sivan, Ramachandra Babu and S. Kumar.
Starting off his independent career shooting Tele-Films for the regional television channels in Kerala, which won him the Best Cameraman Award (instituted by the KERALA FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION) twice over, his repertoire includes documentaries and promotional films for various departments and quasi government agencies produced by the Public Relations Department of the Government of Kerala, including an acclaimed documentary film on the legendary painter K. C. S Panicker.
He ventured into the Malayalam film industry as an independent DP in the year 2005 and with six feature films, numerous short films, advertising and corporate films to his credit, he also took upon the role of a lecturer in the Mindscreen Film Institute situated in Chennai, upon invitation by the ace cinematographer Rajeev Menon for a brief period in 2011. He also served as a visiting faculty and external expert in cinematography, at KRNNIVSA (K R NARAYANAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF VISUAL SCIENCE AND ARTS) since its inception in 2014, till joining AISFM as an associate professor in 2018.

Dr. B K Kiron Komar

“B.K. Kiron Komar is a director who is passionate about entertainment, media and teaching. His vast career graph has seen him work in the fields of direction, acting and dubbing for films, television and theatre, radio and documentaries, ad and short films. He directed Abhi, a Telugu feature film, tele films Aayudam and Bhadramkoduko and theatre plays like Gograhanam, Adisangathi, Naa Laga Endaro, Pachani Samsaram, Janma Bhoomi, Cinema Cinema. He has also worked as a dubbing artist in many movies such as Anaganagaoka Roju, Sindooram, Master, Hitler, Ninne Pelladatha, Balaramayanam.

Kiron has acted in the lead role for serials like Veedanineedalu, PranayaPrabhandam, Aakrandanda, Neera Prapancham and in theatre plays like Bapuji Brathike Vunte, Gograhanam, Kagitham Puli, Ammadu Enduku, Edustunnav, Chavu etc.

As a faculty member he has worked Rama Naidu Film School, Telugu University, Hyderabad Central University and N G Ranga (Jayashankar) University, Osmania University amongst many other schools.”

Debkanta Chakrabarti

Major Achievements:

“Debkanta Chakrabarti’s entry into the world of cinema started with his film studies in the Film and Television Institute of India, where he specialized in film and video editing and later on in cinema-specialisation in editing.

A film that he worked on ‘Silence’ was appreciated by painter Maqbul Fida Hussein and was specially screened during the 1987 IFFI Indian Panaroma section. His stints with awards started with ‘Jesus 71’ a Bengali feature film of Bangladesh that won the acclaimed Best Editing Award in Bangladesh; then with a Bengali serial called ‘Bela Abela’ which received the Ujjala Anadoloke Best Editor Award; followed by been part of the team, as a Editor, for the film ‘Krantikaal’ that won the prestigious National Award in three categories. Recently he won the ‘Uttam Kumar Mahasammanana’ State Recognization Award from the Ministry of Information & Cultural Affairs, West Bengal for his ongoing contribution in both television and film editing.

Companies he has worked with earlier include Doordarshan, Zee Bangla, ETV Bangla, UK & USA based TV companies, apart from been the Chief Editor for innumerable films, short features, corporate films and documentaries; and has also worked with directors like Sekhar Das, Ashoke Vishwanathan, Shyamal Sengupta, Raja Dasgupta, Moloy Bhattacharya, Anjan Dutt, Raja Sen, Subhadra Chowdhury, Arvind Sinha and Amaresh Chakraborty to name a few. He was also the Chief Associate Editor for the film ‘Ocean Of An Old Man’ directed and edited by Late Rajesh Shera, which won the Breda Film Festival Award.

He directed and edited eight episodes of ‘Sidelights from Italia ’90’ a programme on World Cup Football in 1990, which were uploaded from Rome and Doordarshan, India used to show it prior to and after the matches between teams like Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil et al. Satyendra Mohanty

“Satyendra Mohanty is a graduate from the Film TV Institute of India, Pune, with experience of over three decades in film and media. Committed to cinema and television the roles he has played are an Editor, Director, Producer, TV Programmer, Administrator, Consultant in cinema and television and Teaching.

He has edited National Award winning feature films. Apart from this, he has won awards for achievement in film and television. He has worked as the Chief Producer of news and current affairs in ETV News (Bangla and Odia). He also has produced, directed and edited many television programs (fictions and documentaries) in Hindi, Oriya, Bengali and English for Doordarshan, ETV Bangla, ETV Odia and the Films Division of Government of India.

Prior to joining us here, he was the Head of Department of Film & Video Editing in Ramoji Academy of Film & Television, Hyderabad and has rendered services as Visiting Faculty, Examiner, Selector and Academic Advisor in different film schools and institutions in India like Satayjit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata; Jyoti Chitraban Film & TV Institute, Guwahati; Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Roopkala Kendro, Kolkata.”

Janardhana Reddy has been working with major training giants in the Animation Industry including Anithing studios, Animaster, Ants studio, Wiztoonz only to name a few.

Though a 3D Generalist, he loves Art, Character Modelling Animation & Rigging, Compositing and on top of all he is a great teacher by nature. He has handled students across multiple states and has always been a Passionate Trainer.
