Mission & Strategy
The Higher Institute of Image and Sound/Studio-School (ISIS-SE), founded in 2006, emerges from a meticulous process aimed at providing Burkina Faso and the Sub-region with a quality training environment and support for project realization, following the closure of the African Institute of Cinematographic Education (INAFEC 1977-1987).
ISIS-SE is a higher education institution dedicated to transmitting artistic and technical skills in the field of Cinema and Audiovisuals. Moreover, it supports professionals in the Image and Sound sector in the realization of their cinematic and audiovisual creations.
As a Public Establishment of a Scientific, Cultural, and Technical Character (EPSCT), ISIS-SE is a structure under the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (MCCAT). Its appeal is growing among young Africans from various countries such as Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Chad, Togo, etc., drawn by the quality of the offered programs. The institute also maintains international partnerships for a global reach.
Teaching is conducted by academics, high-level professionals in Africa, as well as teachers from prestigious international film schools located in the North, such as Belgium, France, the United States, and Canada.
As a full member of the International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television (CILECT), ISIS-SE positions itself as a center of excellence in training and supporting cinematic and audiovisual production in Africa.
