Mission & Strategy
Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest (MOME) is one of the most significant European institutions of visual culture due to its traditions and intellectual background. In its effort to visualize its professional concepts MOME compounds its own character and traditions with the most up-to-date trends. Its educational structure comprises architecture, design, media, as well as theory. Therefore, MOME has a great international potential considering its broad field of education and synthesis of students. The three-cycle study structure (BA/MA/DLA) provides adequate flexibility and mobility for its students. MOME’s definite ambition is to further broaden its international relations. It welcomes every professional co-operation which inspires its educational and artistic work. MOME on the one hand is a university which educates professional designers, and on the other hand an intellectual workshop with the aim of setting up creative process in order to enhance design consciousness in Hungary.

Key Teaching Staff
József Fülöp DLA, habil.
He is the rector of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, as well as being a university professor and programme leader on the animation training programmes. He is also a visual communication designer, illustrator, animated film director and producer. He has been a teacher at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design since 2001 and since 2005 he has been the head of the animation. He is the author of the BA and MA training programmes in Hungary. Since 2010 he has been the head of the animation department, which he also founded, and since 2014 he has been the rector of MOME.
Anna Gyulai
During her studies, Panni started to take children to camps and workshops (including Demo Camp, Lawn Camp and Opendoors Hungary), introducing different age groups to the world of animation. And this has been one of her passions ever since. She has been teaching visual design at the MOME Animation Department since 2020.
Fábián Balogh
Fábián graduated from the MOME Master of Animation course in 2018. He currently works as a freelance filmmaker and as a consultant and project manager for the BA in Animation. He is also involved in courses on film language, storytelling and animation basics.
Júlia Farkas
Animation director, character designer, multi-platform artist. She has created a unique visual universe with her work, boldly using different platforms and experimenting with new technologies. Her quirky and humorous work fits perfectly in all formats, whether its GIF, NFT or even AR. Her Giphy profile stands at 21 billion views and she has worked with brands such as Warner Bros., Adult Swim and MTV. Besides her career as an artist, Juli is also inspiring new generations as a lecturer in the Animation department at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.

István Orosz (born 24 October 1951) is a Hungarian painter, printmaker, graphic designer and animated film director. He is known for his mathematically inspired works, impossible objects, optical illusions, double-meaning images and anamorphoses. The geometric art of István Orosz, with forced perspectives and optical illusions, has been compared to works by M. C. Escher.
