She has a teaching menu that includes investigating the impact of media on body image, advertising, and media, leadership, culture and identity, and marketing as it relates to consumer choices in makeup and related industries. Successful Graduates

Dan Sprogis

Field of Studies: Animation
Major Achievements:

When Warner Bros. wanted to revitalize their Looney Tunes franchise, they called on Sheridan graduate Dan Sprogis (Animation ’13).  Not only was this Sprogis’ first assignment as Art Director, but it was also a rare opportunity for him to help transform an iconic production that’s credited with having heralded the golden era of animation in the1930s.

For the last two years, Sprogis has been leading the art department at Warner Bros. in creating Bugs Bunny Builders, the new avatar of Looney Tunes for preschoolers which has been wiped clean of the classic slapstick humour of bombs, guns and hammers-to-the-head, to be in sync with modern sensibilities. In Bugs Bunny Builders, the beloved Looney Tunes characters Lola, Daffy, Porky, Tweety and Bugs sing a different tune as they pull off some of the wackiest construction jobs ever, learning the value of working together as a team to problem-solve and build.

Craig Henighan

Field of Studies: Media Arts
Major Achievements:

Craig Henighan is a Canadian-American sound editor and engineer. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Sound for the film Roma. Henighan also won five Primetime Emmy Awards and was nominated for four more in the categories Outstanding Sound Editing and Outstanding Sound Mixing for his work on the television programs Stranger Things and Love, Death & Robots.

Brodie McNeill

Field of Studies: Media Arts
Major Achievements:

McNeill is nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode for the Netflix smash-hit Wednesday. This Emmy nod marks the first of his visual effects career, which includes work on several notable films and series such as The Boys, Creed II and The Shape of Water.

Matthew Whelan

Field of Studies: Animation
Major Achievements:

Whelan’s Emmy nomination is in the category of Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode for his work as VFX Supervisor on the Apple TV+ mini-series Five Days at Memorial. He has already won a Visual Effects Society Award for his work on the series, and he was previously nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for achievement in visual effects.

Alan Barillaro

Field of Studies: Animation
Major Achievements:

In his debut book Where the Water Takes Us, animator Alan Barillaro (Animation ’96)  has returned home – to Canada’s idyllic lakes and islands – to give us a story that chose him as its author long before he won an Oscar for the animated short Piper in 2017. Or even before his 25 years at Pixar, where he was celebrated for his contributions to some of the studio’s biggest hits, including The Incredibles, Incredibles 2, Wall-E, Monsters, Inc., Brave, and A Bug’s Life.
