Martha, a black woman from the Colombian Pacific coast, embarks daily to search among the mud and the infinite roots of the mangroves, for pianguas (shells) for her sustenance. However, while she does her solitary work, she also searches for any possible trace of her missing son to whom she sings like a painful mantra, songs to sleep with.
